Well made but not ideal for our familyWe purchased this to use for our daughter on the beach. She's 11 months and we didn't want her burning herself on the sand now or for the few years to come. I love that it's so easy to tote around in the handy bag it comes in. It's incredibly lightweight and frankly, it looks nice. My biggest disappointment is that when we got wet and went back to our post, the material soaks up water. It got wet itself and spread. I'd love if it were waterproof but that's likely make it a much heavier product. I'm going to try to use it for other purposes too to see how I like it elsewhere. 3My go to blanket!Seriously my go to blanket now! I used it again last night and realized I had to come write a review for this product. We have used it at the beach, the park, concerts, to protect my car seats & trunk, and as a cover when it unexpectedly started raining. It is compact so it just stays in my trunk and is there when I need it, not bulky like my other blanket options. It is HUGE, everytime I pull it out my friends are surprised how big it is when it packs up so small.Last night we used it at a concert and it was big enough for us to sit on and for us to put our stuff under the blanket to protect from people spilling beer on anything. Then when it started to rain we were able to hide under it and stay pretty dry, considering this is not suppose to be water proof it did awesome. Then when packing it up we couldn't fold it because the wind was too strong so I just started stuffing it into the sack and guess what... IT FIT. No need to fold or mess with it. That made my already go to blanket that much better, I HATE folding. hahaI will make sure I take pictures the next time I use it & get those posted as well. 5Huge! - perfect for familiesThis blanket is fantastic. I knew it was big when I ordered it but after laying it out I realized that this thing is huge.It is lightweight, packs down small, and is bigger than other options online. The parachute nylon material is soft and really comfortable. It's way more versatile than our other beach/picnic blanket. My kids are already using it to play in.This blanket fits our entire family. I placed our old blanket on top of this one to take a picture so you have an idea how much bigger this blanket is than others that are for sale. For a reference point - my wife is 5'10" and she fits comfortably on this blanket with room to spare.My kids loved it and begged me to turn it into a fort for them. It's so big and lightweight that we made an air filled play house that they could crawl under.We are definitely bringing this to the beach this summer and it packs so small I'm thinking about throwing it in my luggage on my trip to Costa Rica this spring. 5Good size blanket and easy to carry pouchGood size blanket and easy to carry pouch. I like the thin slick material. I use this for the beach and the sand slides right off. The corner pockets hold a good amount of sand and keep the blanket flat. On one windy day at Carolina Beach I had to put my cooler on the end facing the wind to keep it from getting airborne. This is not the blankets fault but it's what to expect from such a lightweight fabric. It also unfolds and goes back in the pouch in seconds, perfect for when you are DONE with the beach and ready to run back to the house. I haven't noticed any sunscreen stains after using it all summer but I try to lay a towel on top before I flop down.Good blanket for my uses especially when a sporting good store will try to charge you twice as much $$$ for something similar. 5Overall did what I needed it to very well. But be sure you know what you are getting.I used it one weekend at the beach and it did its job very well. The few issues don't outweigh the benefits.Pros: Compact and lightweight. I ve yet to find anything as light and compact. Covers a large area, easily enough for two or three adults to lay out. Seems pretty durable Corner pockets are great weighing it down with sand or other items. Cleaning off sand after use is pretty easy.Cons: Can get wet easily. Won t protect you if ground is wet. No cushion. I knew this going into the purchase, but it s worth mentioning. Material will get hot from sand and sun. We had a couple days in the upper 90 s degrees Fahrenheit and it got too hot to be on during the afternoon when the sand was too hot. 4Awesome beach blanketThis blanket is awesome! It packs really tight, so it doesn't take much room in your suitcase or your beach bag. It's a good size for you and a few friends to relax. I used it at the beach, and loved it! I also pulled it out at the airport, and some friends and I took a little nap on it while we had a long layover (see pic). It's actually larger than it appears in the airport pic when you spread it out completely. I usually just use a towel at the beach, but this was a lot better because your towel gets all sandy and the material on the blanket doesn't stick to sand. Overall, I liked it a lot. 5Not beach friendlyI live in south florida and the beaches here get hot. The material of this blanket is horrible to use in hot temperatures as it just absorbs heat and starts to feel as hot as the sand around it. There is also nothing "sand escape" about this beach blanket as it attracts sand like nobody's business (don't even think about using this if you have a dog). The pockets at each corner that are meant to weigh down the blanket with sand have no zippers and are very flimsy so sand just ends up spilling out of them. For some reason 3 out of 4 of the pockets face downwards but one faces upwards, making it super easy for sand to spill out. Wife and i became so frustrated that we threw it away in the beach garbage after the first use. 1Not what I thought I was getting, but 5 stars...easy!I wanted a waterproof blanket large enough for my 6'7 husband to lay on. I was under the impression that this was waterproof. It is not. HOWEVER: it is so awesome that I don't care. It packs so small, weighs nothing, and nothing sticks to it.We live in the woods and our yard is made primarily of dirt, pine needles, moss, leaves, and ticks. I have been able to lay in the sun for the first time in years without my blanket getting ruined or not being able to see the ticks running toward me. I actually just grabbed two while writing this review. Because of the pastel color, they don't stand a chance at being camouflage. I would trade this for waterproof any day.Thanks! 5Excellent Beach BlanketI bought this for an upcoming Hawaii trip. Over all I like this beach blanket. However one thing that really disappointed me about this item is the misleading product info saying that there is a ZIPPERED pocket. "VALUABLES POCKET- The only beach blanket with a built in valuables pocket where you can store your phone, keys, wallet or other personal items. The pocket zips securely shut so you won t lose or misplace your valuables"If I come across another beach blanket with the same dimensions with an actual zippered pocket, I will be returning this item.UPDATE: From three stars to five stars.WildHorn Outfitters contacted me regarding the snap closures instead of the zipper closure on one of the pockets. Turns out they had changed the pocket style in the middle of last year and Amazon was suppose to change out the inventory and only ship out beach blankets with zippers and I somehow received an old style one. WildHorn Outfitters has excellent customer service and shipped me a new updated beach blanket with the zippered pocket. The product and the company both deserve five stars. 5False advertisingThis nylon sheet is not meant for the beach. It does NOT allow sand to filter through for a sand-free beach experience. It's softer than a windbreaker so that's the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. I'm returning it and buying a real beach mat that keeps sand off. 2
