PERFECT HAT: Fits My Large Head Really WellUPDATE 07/30/2018: This really IS the last hat I will ever buy. Could not be more pleased with this hat. And now that I have packed it on a few trips, I can also say that the packability is great. I usually flatten it, rather than fold or roll, and place on top of my clothes as the last item before I zip my suitcase. Works like a charm. After many wearings on hot summer days and in hours of sun, it still looks as good as that day I first received it.Earlier Review:Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for ... lightweight (but with some shape and not floppy), "airy" so my head doesn't sweat like Niagara Falls, and, a very attractive style on my head. I have a freakishly large head and this fits very well, not tight at all. I can't speak yet to the "pack-able" claim as I have not put it in a suitcase. Pack-ability was another feature I was looking for, though, so hopefully I will be pleased. I hesitated at the price (I'm pretty frugal) but am glad I ordered this hat. Although it's still early days, I feel like this may be the last beach-summer-vacation hat I may ever buy ... so that's economical in the long run! This is really a very cute hat on, is very lightweight, and is really well made - it looks very sturdy and should last for a long time. The Caribbean was windy, and the hat doesn't have a strap, but because it's adjustable, I was able to tighten the inner band to keep the hat on my head. I admit I wasn't anxious to spend this kind of money on a hat, but the quality can't be beat, the hat is beautiful, and it's one I will be able to wear for years to come. I'm not a hat person, I generally don't like the way I look in hats, but this was cute and I got a lot of compliments. It is the first of several Wallaroo hats I hope to own. The style strikes a nice balance between looking dressy enough for town (especially if dressed up with a scarf or ribbon) but casual enough to wear hiking. And it's so flattering that I've had strangers stop me on the trail and ask where I got it.My previous Wallaroo was canvas and it had many of the same qualities listed above, but after 10 years it was time for it to retire and spend it's declining years as a gardening hat.5Only thing good is the color cranberryThe cheapest, chessiest, flimsiest, thinnest, lightest "hat" I have ever had the misfortune to purchase.The crown might be made of tissue paper it is so thin and porous there's no there there.The brim is nearly as much of nothing as the crown. You'd have to have the crown lined to give this hat shape and substance but that would be another $45 not well spent.This hat might be worth $9.99 to stretch a point if proceeds went to charity. $45 is entirely outrageous for this product.I have several other Wallaroo hats in different styles & have felt that the brand was over-priced for the product, but paid the price for three particular colors and textures, one as a gift; this is the one, however, that clearly shows you what kind of standards the company has.The one star is for nice color and the fast shipment.1Good for travelLooked nice and kept the sun off.
