Thin design, works well with helmetsProduct review based on first Balaclava ever purchased.Pros: Thin design which will work well with Helmets. This was my biggest concern, was this going to be uncomfortable while wearing, but it was not. This mask is longer then expected which is great. It really covers my neck. I will say it did a good, not great, job at keeping my face warm from cold wind. I will note this was my experience from a day with 20 F weather, and next week i will be in 5-10 F weather in Vermont, so we will see.Cons: I'm not sure if this was just me, but i did feel excessive pressure over the nose. You can see in my pictures that the mask is pretty tight, but it did become more loose during the day. This is my only complaint, which doesn't warrant a negative star. 5I have been looking from something like this for awhileI have been looking from something like this for awhile. Things were either priced a bit more than I was willing to spend on something that might not work. But with this I got two of them but what really sold me was the video review someone had made on these. Since I work outside all day I figured it would be best to get the Nordic version as it's their warmer model. I LOVE IT! The full face mask is comfortable and doesn't smash my nose like other face masks I've had in the past did. Also, it very easily pulls down over/under my chin for when I'm inside. Another thing others said about ones that UA or Nike had was that the neck wasn't near long enough and I find that this one is as it allows my jacket to go over it and keep the chill from going down my neck/back. The thing that I found to be a bit tricky was getting it folded right to work as a hat. I'm that kind that when I wear a beanie I want it to cover my ears because if my ears get cold my head gets cold. But I also want a beanie to look good and not just be a rats nest. So after playing with it a couple of times I've figured out how to fold it over and cover my ears and look decent. I'm completely happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to others. PS...first day I wore it the wind chill was in the low teens and it kept the chill off entire head and not just the face like some of the others claim. I'll update it once I've finished the work week and have washed it for the first time. 5Nordic Balaclava 2-Pack Face MaskThe masks are simply THE BEST. We had few very cold days in Virginia and the temp went down to -5F with a wind chill of -15F and I was outdoors for 8 hours and the mask performed like a charm. I did not feel the wind or cold around the neck or face. I would highly recommend them. Actually I will be ordering a second set as backup just in-case Friendly Swede decides to discontinue them. Thank You Friendly Swede for an excellent product, and PLEASE DO NOT discontinue them. 5Great great great product...So I purchased these about two weeks ago for a winter hike up to Mount McLaughlin in Oregon the temperature with 8 at its lowest 17 at its highest these balaclavas initially seemed a lot thinner than what I expected so I was afraid how they would perform. I was not disappointed they function very well keeping my head and neck warm to the point where I did not want to cover my face.they were extremely comfortable and flexible they felt so good I even slept in it which helped when the temperature dropped The craftsmanship and stitching were great there were times I forgot I was even wearing it. The fact that it came in a two pack was even better as one of the guys forgot there's so I gave him one and he loved it as well. Great job guys. I wish I had bought another set The only sad part is I didn't get any cool stickers Buy it I you won't regret it 5For 5K runs so my lungs don't hurtI was pleased to find a pink hat like this so it doesn't look like a bank robber. The pink is the lightest one, though, so I still bought a darker one (arctic warmth) for the coldest days. I bought this so I can run in the winter. My lungs hurt from the cold otherwise. I want to run in 5K races and will wear these there. Weather in the 50's or below makes my lungs hurt. These are great. Depending how much you layer with an extra hat, I can run in 40 below windchill (I tried that once) and it was doable with lots of layers but the ONLY thing I lacked was high tech socks/and shoes with less mesh for enough warmth. Note these are NOT made in Sweden (China) and that disappointed me, but you can't beat the price. 5Exceeded all expectations !!!Finding a balaclava that fits with the helmet is not easy. Till I found the The Friendly Swede ones that is. Their balaclavas are thin enough not to cause any issues with helmet. I have a 60cm head and wear a size XLarge Bern fully open. No issues and no pressure points at all with balaclava under the helmet.This Christmas Day we got hit with a one heck of a snow storm with 30mph winds. This thin balaclava protected my face from the elements.I never knew comfort like this existed.Zero interference with goggles. Also, I could pull the from part covering the moth and nose with one hand in gloves.Like some of the reviewers said, the very front will get a bit of a moisture build up. Probably because of the material this was never an issue. Dried up very fast so I could keep going.Two balaclavas coming in one package is a plus. My son confiscated one and used it every day for six hours plus.No issues or concerns.Thank you for the great product and price. 5Warm and comfortable, but a little foggy with glassesGreat balaclava. I purchased to keep my ears and face warm while biking through the Boston winter and this product does the trick. It fits snugly, but not so tight as to be uncomfortable. So far I've biked with it in temperatures as low as 22 degrees F, and have had no issues keeping warm.The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wear glasses and did have some trouble with them fogging up from my breathing. The material is fairly breathable, but I found that covering both my nose and mouth resulted in significant fogging. On the other hand, if I only cover my mouth, I don't have any fogging issues. I plan to manage nose coldness by tactically raising and lowering the balaclava to manage the fogging.Long story short, if you don't wear glasses, you should seriously consider this balaclava; if you do wear glasses, I'd still recommend, as the fogging can be circumvented in many cases. 4Worked Better Than Advertised!I bought these balaclavas for an extra layer of warmth at night while tent camping during the chilly fall and winter months. They are very flexible/stretchy and warm, and easy to breathe through. I usually wore one to bed with a wool hat over it, leaving just enough open space for my eyes and nose. (Turns out I didn't like having my nose completely covered while sleeping, lol.) The balaclava also came in handy on a particular high altitude hike, and definitely around a few evening campfires as well! I recommend this product! 5Just enough.For the price, it's great. It's very thin, but it's enough to slow the wind down and keep my face from getting chapped or freezing. I have a decently large head and it fits me comfortably. I really wanted one of these for the 'options' and I'm pleased to say it's easy to move it from my nose to under my nose to under my mouth to under my chin. They all work well. I like the part that goes over your mouth, it breaths easy and doesn't get saturated. Also, the neck gator is long enough to not let the bottom of my neck get hit with wind, and loose enough to not feel like my suffocating (I don't like tight stuff on my neck). Not extremely warm, but if you are in a windy area around 25-40 degrees and your doing a moderate amount of movement, I think it'll work for you. The seems on the back of the head could be a little better constructed, I'm not sure if they will get annoying with a helmet on if I go snowboarding. But it's not too bad. Again, consider the price, I paid $20 for the pack of 2.I might get get something a little thicker and wind proof to put on top of this just around my mouth and/or neck. Something to consider -rather than one thing that's super warm, getting a couple of things to layer. 5Functional, Durable, ComfortableFrom December 2018 to February 2019, I worked for an ice and snow removal company in the Chicago area. On most days, our crew would start work at sometime around midnight and finish up around six in the morning. Needless to say, I experienced some of the harshest weather America has to offer, including the "polar vortex" which caused temperatures to plummet to fifty-two below zero on one occasion. So it's fair to say that I put this Balaclava to the test. And I can report that it passed with flying colors. The Balaclava was very effective at keeping my face warm and dry in even the most extreme conditions. It was also quite comfortable, too, which allowed me to keep it on for hours at a time without a problem. The only downsides I noticed were some moderate moisture buildup around the mouth area and a mild pressure near the temples. However, such issues are basically unavoidable in a Balaclava, and neither of these issues became serious problems for me, so I can't hold it against the product. The Balaclava was also easy to wash and seemed to come out of each was with its material in tact, although I only used it for a few months. I'm sure over longer periods of time, the material will being to wear. But, again, that is pretty much unavoidable in a product like this. So all things considered, I have to say this Balaclava was well worth the money. 5
