Nice Balls for Play - NOT so good for ball machinesWell made solid ball. Most durable ball out there IMO, 'for play.' Bounces consistent and higher than the harder 'sanctioned' tournament balls, as these Onix balls are made of a softer plastic. Has 97%, 5 or 4 Star ratings for near 600 reviews. Almost unheard of for ANY product. A good choice of ball for the beginner to Intermediate player for play, or if you like 'feel' and a higher bouncing ball.This ball is just softer than many others. Unfortunately, that makes it shed it's material/plastic a lot more when used in say the Lobster ball machine more than other harder balls. In turn, that softness makes for a build up on the spin-out wheels that begins to make the machine shoot out more and more erratic balls. In fact, from the very start on a new machine it will not be as accurate as say a Franklin 40 ball in use with a machine. You can clean the gunk off the machine wheels, but that is a process. IMO if you are thinking of using these with a machine, don't. Get a harder ball if accuracy from the machine matters to you. 5This are good pickle balls and I got the three pack at ...This are good pickle balls and I got the three pack at a good price. When I ordered the six pack cost more than twice what the three pack did, so be careful. 5A Pickleball that you can be proud to use!Best outdoor Pickleballs balls ever. They are heavier which really helps in the wind. If you are not sure of the difference between indoor and outdoor Pickleballs I will tell you. The outdoor balls have more holes than the indoor balls.I bought the Dura brand last year but they are much lighter and less durable than the Onix. After a summer season, these still look good whereas the Dura balls are all scuffed up like plastic rubbed on cement would be expected to be. 5good pickle ballsThese are great outdoor pickle balls so far. I've only used them about 10 times (same ball) and it's holding up a-ok, no cracks or anything like that. The extra weight makes a big difference when playing outside, we were using lighter balls (probably indoor ones) and they were all over the place in the wind. 5Just a beginner to know the difference!People play with this Onix brand at the public park because they are lighter than the Dura Fast brand balls they play with in a pickle ball tournament we saw in Surprise Arizona. I am too much a beginner to know the difference. 3Good quality, nicely packagedThe Onix balls came nicely packaged in a plastic box. I purchased these Onix balls because people I recently played Pickleball with were using balls including the Onix yellow balls and they said the Onix balls were good. I agreed and ordered some! Hopefully, the Onix outdoor balls will not disappoint and I will keep my impression and continue to use them. 5This ball is not approved by the USAPA for tournament ...This ball is not approved by the USAPA for tournament play. It says on the description that it is, but that is incorrect. You can search online for the most up-to-date approved ball list as of 5/16/18 (or see pictures) and I suggest you purchase one of these if you are a serious pickleball player. There are a few other ONIX balls on this approved list, but none of them are the Pure 2 Outdoor. I purchased these balls because of the description, but after getting them a friend told me they are not approved and I have sent them back.I am more than willing to change this review if I have been misguided by the USAPA website. 1Glad I got these because they are high quality.As always, I paid full price like everyone else. And I almost bought fewer balls or cheaper balls. This was the way to go for me, because:(A) These are 'outdoor' balls, the larger kind. The indoor ones are not nearly as good in terms of the experience using them. Nobody at the tennis court near me uses the smaller indoor balls, probably because they're just not as much fun or pleasurable to play with.(B) The color is right, these yellow balls. I see orange ones being used but prefer the yellow ones.(C) These balls bounce well. And they feel good against the paddles. There is true bounce to them - unlike the cheap ones that I would have regretted buying.(D) Nobody I can play with is any good at the game to be frank, so it is great to have lots of balls. That way, we can practice more meaningfully since there are more balls to use and not have to chase down two or three to keep the action going. 5Make a huge differenceWe love these! We used to use some cheaper ones that came with some beginner paddles, and then someone brought these and there was such a huge difference we immediately bought some for ourselves. These seem to be a thicker, higher quality plastic. You can really feel the difference when it hits the paddle. It feels like I have more control with these. Definitely worth it! 5Don't hesitate to buy these.These are the only pickle balls we use in our 55-and-over community. We have an avid group of pickle ball players who are addicted to the game, and everyone agrees that these balls are the best. 5
