Great belt to wear with jeansI initially ordered the wrong size! Pay attention to the sizing guide because it appears to be right on. If I had followed it to start with I wouldn't have had to return the first belt. The return was very easy and uneventful. I reordered the correct size and have now received it. It is a perfect belt to wear with jeans. I haven't had it long enough to give a really critical review but it appears to be a high quality belt for the price. I ordered two ratchet belts also and received a 10% discount for ordering three belts. All three of the belts are of high quality and I am very pleased with my purchase.5Most of them are vinyl or "bonded" leather which is not much better.I had to return this belt. Not because of the quality, but because it was a bit to wide to fit into my belt loops. I will have to order one that is slightly thinner. The belt IS REAL leather unlike the belts I see at the department stores. Most of them are vinyl or "bonded" leather which is not much better. Update on 2/2/2018.. Marino Avenue contacted me and replaced the belt with one that fits perfectly!! Fantastic Customer service!! I am very impresssed!1Genuine one piece leather belt - Fit a bit larger than the displayed sizing thhoughI used to order belt that are size 44 (for waist 46); which always ended up being too small. So this time I ordered a size up with this model, which was size 48 (for waist 48). The belt turned up to be a bit too big unfortunately. But nothing I can't fix with a leather hole puncher that I already had in my workshop, so at least I didn't need to return it.The belt smells and feels like real leather, which is as described. Also, it's ONE single piece of leather and not two or more stitched together, which I don't like because they always separate/fall apart after a few month of use. So another good point for this belt right there. Simple & sturdy. Great fit for Levi's, Lee, Wrangler, Kirtland, high dollar "name brands", et al. I live in what are called "dungarees", and from rough and tumble work pants, to stylish "great for the club" trousers, this product just does the job. Call me back in a year or so, I'll tell you if it has the longevity. Quality means long wear, this seem to be a great product. Thick but sturdy leather, no stretching or elongation of holes. Wish they had a snap for buckle replacement, but price vs. all else. I'm guessing someone in China wants to make a quality product from properly cured real leather: This seems to be the one to buy. Why not 5 stars? I find it difficult to assign "love" to inanimate objects.4Color is stylish and unique.The color of this belt is just exactly what I expected from the photo. It's sturdy and stylish. Love it because this color is different from any others I own. It's an instant favorite for all my jeans. This last comment may be nitpicky and not deserving of a star reduction but just an FYI, the leather thickness is not quite what the majoritiy of my 1.5 inch width belts are. I'll see if the comparative thinness will translate into premature degrading of what I referred to as sturdy. If so, update will appear here in time.5Like anything elseLike anything else, leather belts can come in a wide variety of quality, more or less matched by their price point. I categorize this as a budget grade, $20-and-under belt. Reviews tend to be based on what the reviewer happens to know so in the interest of providing context, my current baseline for belts is the Carhartt Men's Anvil Belt. I have been wearing this Classic Jeans Style model Marino Avenue belt for about 4 months now. Purchased both brown and black, but have been wearing only the brown one. Placed side by side, they both have the same physical dimensions and general characteristics.Comparison -Length: My Marino Avenue belts were purchased in size 32 and measuring the length of the leather at the buckle to the center of the middle hole got me 31 inches, without forcing the leather in any way. Putting in a little force, I am able to stretch the belt out to 31.5 inches, and it felt a little bit like stretching a piece of dense elastic. For reference, my Carhartt is size 34 and measured 33-7/8 inches without stretching. If you were to loop my Marino Avenue Classic Jeans belt to the last hole, there would be less than a 1/2" coming out of the leather belt loop.Width: The width is the same 1.5" wide just like the Carhartt belt. The length of belt between the last hole and the tip of the belt is 3-1/8" while the Carhartt provided a more generous 3-7/8." So choose depending on how much length you like having out past the belt loop, the Marino Avenue may be much too short while for other people the Carhartt may be too long. I personally prefer the Carhartt's length for jeans.Thickness: If you hold the belts only by the edge, both belts look like they are a healthy 1/8" thick, with the Carhartt a hair thicker and the Marino a hair thinner. However in the hand, the Marino Avenue feels much thinner than that and when I examined the belts more closely, I noticed that the Carhartt had a more consistent thickness for the entire width of the belt. On the other hand the Marino Avenue belt had some sort of epoxy or plastic coating along the edges that made it look thicker, so the body of the belt material's width is a bit thinner. To check that I wasn't just imagining this, I measured them again, this time using a (uncalibrated, budget-grade) digital caliper. Taking care to avoid any pinches in the belt that had developed from daily use, I measured at the 3rd hole of each belt, where the Carhartt measured 0.154" while the Marino Avenue belt is 0.136" thick.Belt Buckle: Almost identical in appearance and dimensions between the Marino Avenue and Carhartt. Similar heft.Stitching: My Marino Avenue belt has a mild defect in stitching where the 2nd row of stitches were not completely across the whole width of the belt. The stitches however have held the material together well without any signs of fraying or coming apart yet (4 months of daily use). My particular Carhartt belt had more robust looking two rows of stitches that properly crossed the width of the belt, but it arrived out of the box frayed and other parts started coming apart over time with use. I re-stitched portions of the Carhartt myself using just ordinary thread and noticed over time that my thread started wearing out too (over 2 years of daily wear).In summary, I think this belt is serviceable: It does the job at its price point but does not offer anything above and beyond its class. It is not so cheaply made that it couldn't handle normal non-abusive daily office use, and the thickness and length are just barely adequate depending on opinion. I think it is a fine thickness for lighter office-grade fabric pants like khakis and modern thin "denim" and delivers its promise of being in the *style* of a jeans belt, so there's no expectation on my end for it to actually be as robustly made as I would expect for heavier classic denim jeans, carpenter pants or shop-floor type work pants like the Carhartt is supposed to be. For me, the length is a drawback and doesn't give me the full look I want but the belt is still functional. The belt itself seems to be a proper, single piece belt and not a bonded belt made by gluing 2 strips of paper-thin leather together. I did experience a bit of the brown belt's color staining my pants while it was new, but it wasn't nearly as bad as what I experienced with other budget belts that I have owned.3... tired of looking for a belt locally that I liked, and all the buy one get one half ...Was tired of looking for a belt locally that I liked, and all the buy one get one half off sales. I only need one belt. This belt is pretty much what I expected from the pics and description. I'm going to wear this a week and see how it goes. The back is a different material than the front. Not sure if it's all leather or not. The brown buckle will take some time getting used to since I've always worn brushed nickel, but I knew that before I bought. No five stars because my confidence is just not there yet with first impressions of it being all leather. It doesn't scratch with a slight fingernail. Pics are taken with flash. The jeans pics are slightly more red looking. I wear 33 pants and a size 36 belt fits perfectly in the third hole from the end.4Great Belt, Amazong Price.This belt is thicker, and has a better feel than a lot of other belts that I have bought in the past. The color Walnut is darker than picture shows, but I like the darker color more.5
