Try it, you'll like it.You never really know until you try it on. This is a keeper. So easy to adjust and readjust. Easy to release and looks really sharp. My next order will be for a black belt to go with the brown I just received. Reminds on the uniform belts in the service, only better.9/1/16 Update: If you cut the black belt to the same length as the brown belt by this manufacturer you may not be able to buckle it. You will see in the attached photo that the notched area is much further back from the tip. I like to trim by belt so only a short section protrudes from the buckle. If you do this you may have a major problem. you have created an unusable belt! I had the brown belt before the black so I made that mistake. Check out my photo.9/12 After I reported my problem Marino contacted me and suggested that I had somehow received some of their earliest stock. They immediately made arrangements to replace the defective belt at no cost to me. New one is great and couldn't ask for a better customer service response. I'm sure I will be buying another and will certainly recommend their products and customer service! 5That color looks good on the dark brown beltThe biggest issue I have is the difference between how the belt buckles look in the picture versus the real product. I am on my second black belt, and the first one was shipped with a buckle that had a plastic inlay where the picture showed a metal finish in a different color. The second black belt has the correct finish/style on the buckle, but is the wrong color. Although it is supposed to be a a pewter look, it is more of a champagne gold. That color looks good on the dark brown belt, but is not the best finish on the black belt. So, while the belt looks to be well made, the buckles totally let down the combined product. Work on the buckle finishes (I really do not like any of them, even as shown) and this is an excellent product. The ratcheting buckle is an elegant solution to an age old problem. I have concerns about how well the belt will endure daily wear; hope those are unfounded in a year. 3Really innovative and worth the money.Love this belt. Easy adjustment. I carry inside the waistband most of the time so it is important to be able to adjust the size easily, both for comfort and to hold my weapon securely. It is so stylish too.Also if I'm out and eat a big meal and need a tad more room I just reach down to the buckle and release it a few clicks. So awesome.This is my second one. I ruined my other one (which I still use) by placing my cellphone holster on and off it every day. After 3 years use t is all scratched and worn down. 5Works like a champ.Very nice belt! First off, it fits. I'm a big boy and this has plenty to spare. It also has much finer control with the ratchet compared with holes and pin belts. The little bar at the bottom of the buckle to release the ratchet takes a little time to get used to but that's just a thing. A day or so and it's second nature.The leather is thick, a bit stiff because it is new, and seems like very nice quality.I have a second version my wife bought me for Christmas. It unbuckles like the old car buckles or maybe airplane buckles. It looks real good but I've noticed the ratchet slips. I don't know why this is happening and I'm hoping it will just wear in. No problems with this particular version though. Locks in place and stays until you hit the release. 5A Great Product - in my opinion.I logged in just to leave this review. I am extremely pleased with this belt. I have had sliding buckles before but after a short while they would not grip the leather since it had become compressed. This ratchet mechanism overcomes that problem and provides about 30 different settings - if needed. Due to my anatomy, I have to loosen my belt when I sit and tighten it when I stand. This is far less obvious and far less a problem when using this belt. The buckle is heavy metal - not anything cheap - in fact, there is nothing cheap about the belt. The end of the belt that remains attached to the buckle can be shortened by cutting it off and reattaching it. I initially clamped it full length for a couple of days until I was certain how much to cut off and I advise others to do the same. I will get another soon but would prefer one about 1/8th inch more narrow. Well designed, well made, and I'm more than pleased (and I seldom give any product five stars)! 5Awesome product - One minor concern.Bought this belt for myself to test out the quality before buying one for my father for fathers day. While I am immensely happy with my purchase for myself, I am weary of purchasing it with the purpose of using it as a gift. The material feels amazing, the mechanism works perfectly and it looks awesome. How ever there is one small section where it looks like it jumped a stitch. While I don't care about this for myself, as it is on the inside it still makes me think twice about purchasing it with the intention of giving it away.That being said, I am not certain if this would be a common issue, the material itself feels like its a good quality material so to see a manufacturing defect like this is partially concerning. 4MARINO MEN'S WIDE RIMMED IMPRINTED LEATHER RATCHET DRESS BELTA couple of years ago I bought my first no hole ratchet belt. It was inexpensive and right out of the chute I had a problem with the buckle which did not release properly. After a number of frustrating adjustments I got it to work consistently. To have a belt that is not too long, it must be cut to a manageable size. The buckle has a pointed tooth mechanism to grip the end if the belt. Some uses later the belt failed at the gripper end and had to be cut more to have a good surface to hold. This was supposedly a leather belt but daily use soon produced tears in the "leather". I am 150 lbs.with a 34" waist so no strain on this belt. Since I loved the idea of a ratchet belt, this time I purchased a more expensive belt again made of leather. This one is fantastic. Before even trying it on, I could see the obvious difference in quality. It also had to be cut to size but that was a snap. The buckle release works perfectly. My advice, read the reviews and spend the extra $ for quality the first time. If you happen to cut the belt too short the company will send you a new one at no charge. A neat little plus is a leather key fob included in the very nice gift box. Kudos to Marino. 5super comfortable and stylishI love these belts. First the look, style and leather quality is good. Next, I love the micro adjustable lengths. It is amazing comfortable to be able to tighten or loosen your belt to very small increments. Our waist size will change a tiny bit day to day or during the day and being able to adjust your belt accordingly is an amazing idea. I bought a few of these belts in different style and now am hating days I chose to wear and old school belt with punched out holes. Cutting the belt length and putting the belt together the 1st time was very easy and simple to do and anyone can do it. I am a bit concerned about the catches on the belt that allow the micro adjustment are plastic and I don't know how long they will last. If quality over time is an issue, I will amend my review accordingly. 5LOVE IT! GREAT BELT! GREAT TECHNOLOGY!I absolutely love this belt. The technology is available from many manufacturers, but this one works flawlessly and looks classy. As I show it off and ask people what is different about it, they don't even notice that it has no holes. Everyone says it looks like a VERY nice dress belt. Once I show them the technology of the ratchet system, they all fall in love with it. The belt came is very nice packaging. The website has great instructions. There are many videos explaining the sizing process available online. I don't think I will ever go back to traditional belts. GET YA ONE, well GET YA TWO, one in black and one in brown. You will never regret it! 5Seriously Blown Away!!This is the only belt I will ever buy again! I love leather belts but the traditional buckle always destroys the belt before the rest of it even starts to wear out. Not this belt! The ratcheting buckle is so easy to operate, actually protects the belt, and is a perfect fit every time! The leather and craftsmanship is high quality and extremely durable! I was a little skeptical when I ordered it but now that I have the belt and use it every day, it is only the first in what will be a great collection! Seriously blown away!!Update, 09-20-2019, Not as blown away anymore. I still really like the belt, and belt buckle, but after almost daily use for the past couple years it is breaking and falling apart as seen in the photos. Somewhat disappointed as I feel leather belts should last much longer than a couple years. I'm not misusing or abusing it, only wearing it around my waist. Another downside is that because the latch release lever is facing my body, it occasionally will get pushed and release the belt a notch or three. I'm only tightening it enough to hold my pants up. I have another similar belt buckle (same essential design) that doesn't do this. Overall still pretty happy with the belt but it may be in the trash sooner rather than later. 5
