Customer Reviews

They are OK but nothing to write home about!Clark's are not what they used to be. I actually have a long but narrow foot. Clark's never used to fit me. I am a 10.5 narrow so you can imagine why as Clark's generally run wide. But then about 8 years ago I found this pair called the Clark Pyramid. I tried on a 10 and it fit so well I couldn't believe it. I think because they were making them longer, so the 10 fit as opposed to a 10.5 which is how my foot measures. Now those pair needed replacing a few years back and I found a pair at 9.5 that fit and I think only because they are soft leather which lets my foot stretch a bit without binding my big toe or little toe. Those were the Sektor 4 Eyes. But lately I can't find any that fit as well as either of my old pair. Additionally they seem to be making them cheaper each year. They don't have the same sturdy feel or construction and all the soles seem to be the same pre-molded bottoms. And you can't count on them being "true to size" which is what people need to know when buying a shoe. I went through 4 different sizes and shoes before finding these and I'm not really happy with the fit but it's the best I could find and I need a new pair of shoes for evening events. I could wear these for a few hours, 3 or4 maybe, but wouldn't want to for much longer than that.3Soles wear out quickly leading to dangerously slippery situationComfortable and good looking shoe but be warned that within 6-9 months the soles will become worn flat and smooth from heel to toe to the point that if you are not extremely careful, in even the slightest damp conditions, you will fall! It's a shame when the laces outlive your shoe itself...1Nice Fit, Looks, but I question the durability.Update:I have had these shoes for nearly two years and they have held together very nicely. They fit great and they are still comfortable. I bought another pair of Clark's since then and swap between them. The leather looks slightly worn, but it's not trashy. The soles are started to get rather slick and will most likely be the cause of these shoes demise. I still recommend them. I actually recommend any Clark shoe in general.Original Review: 2017, MayInitial thoughts:- Very nice looking- Fit well- Very light- The "lightness" gives me concerns about durability.- Leather scuffs easilyI am concerned that these shoes will not last me very long. My previous pair of Clarks UNStructured shoes were GREAT. I wore them until the insoles were starting to get uncomfortable and the soles were slick. They had a little heft to them and made me confident that they would get me through the long haul. The jury is still out on these. Like I said, they look nice, feel nice, and I like them... Just concerned they may not last. The soles do not appear as durable and the way the leather scuffs up if I accidently kick something has me on edge. But, I'm going to stick with them. If something drastic happens soon, I will be sure to update the review.4Poor fit and cheap qualitySize is not accurate. I've worn a 12D my whole life and these were way too small. They are also very, VERY cheap material both on the shoe and the sole. The sole seems to be some sort of light weight plastic that looks like it'll crack as soon as worn. Do NOT waste your money on these shoes. Very poor quality and fit.1Inconsistent fitting.I have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable. If one thing is OK, another isn't.My biggest problem on many shoes is that the tongues are too long and dig into my leg. Other problems include the heels not fitting right and the crease in the shoe when you bend your foot digging into my toes.I bought a pair of these and they fit perfectly. They are extremely comfortable and very light. But, they still have good padding. I can walk for miles in them and they are just as comfortable as running shoes. They were so nice, I ordered two black and two brown pairs. The fitting is inconsistent. The black pairs were good enough. One brown pair was OK. The other one had too long of a tongue. I ordered two more replacements and they were also bad. Amazon finally gave up on me and stopped sending me new pairs to try and gave me a refund.4Nice looking, light shoe, good value, man made parts of shoe are warm and grab ankle areaGotta say the bighest drawback so far is that the non leather parts of the shoe, ala man-made areas, retain heat. I'm referring to the area around ankle. It grabs at the ankle, feels a bit rough and is warm.I have put these away for the summer in the hot months, since They need be worn with some socks...yes thats obvious, but I dont think these shoes breath as much as my traditional all leather and rubber shoes.I love the way they look, but thear not the most comfortable shoes I own. I still like them, but dont love them.4very comfortable, no more sore feet, look good enoughI have never left a shoe review. However, I love these shoes! I actually feel excited to wear them. I know that seems over the top, but after dreading the days of wearing my more formal shoes with a slight heel, these are like heaven on my feet. I'm a teacher. Most days I wear a tie, and I did wonder if these shoes would look too informal. However, no one notices them, because they're just fairly plain black shoes, and they aren't dorky tennis shoes, so they don't stand out. At the end of the day, my feet don't hurt. That's a major upgrade! I prefer these to slip-on shoes, which can't be tightened. Stick with laces, which can make the shoe fit however you'd like. They felt a bit stiff at first, where the shoe naturally creases horizontally, across the top of my foot, as well as the raised area at the back, around my heel. However, after 2 days of wearing them, these areas loosened up, and I don't notice any stiffness. I am happy with my purchase, and I would definitely buy these again in the future.5Decent Shoe for WalkingThis is a lightweight walking shoe. Not for dress or style. It is functional and I was able to walk long distances in comfort. No complaints. The construction is atypical of Clarks: I've worn their shoes for twenty years. The upper leather (almost seems to be faux leather) will not likely last as long as their older more expensive styles. I've worn the shoes for a month and that's a safe guess. So plan on replacing the shoes more often while paying less per order. The leather finish is strange. I'm due for a shine, but I'm reluctant to do it. The dull rougher finish is different than what I'm familiar with. I'm contacting Clarks for recommendations other than a paste polish. It's a decent shoe. A bit on the cheap, but most products these days are unless you pay premium and the company keeps their standards.4Great shoes.I've bought Clarks for a few years now. These shoes meet my expectations. They're great for jobs that require you to stand a lot. As a teacher, I stand a lot, and walk around a lot, too. The primary frustration I've had with Clarks in general is the soul of the shoe. They wear out fairly quickly (to me, a year is fairly quickly), and, as they do, they become slippery in water. I would recommend these shoes, especially for those on their feet in office/business environments, but be aware you'll need to replace them about every 12-15 months if you use them more often then 1-2 days a week.3So much better than SkechersReally pleased with these. After having a couple pair of Skechers fall apart, I was hunting for something with a similar style that was better made. Clarks did not disappoint - they are significantly better made, and substantially more comfortable. At first I wasn't sure as they were a little stiff, but this is actually a good thing. Any leather shoe/boot I've ever worn that held up were a little stiff at first. This is not to say they were uncomfortable, I was just unsure at first. After wearing them a few times, they broke in quite well and are incredibly comfortable. More so than most other shoes I've worn. The material over all is a much better quality. They're not heavy, but they don't feel cheap either (just right in other words). They're not quite as stylish as Skechers, but they're a close second, and for what you get for the money the trade-off is totally worth it.5
