Customer Reviews

They look nice but for some reason the right shoe was rubbing ...They look nice but for some reason the right shoe was rubbing my Achilles tendon RAW. I always wear socks too, so it wasn't anything like that. It could have been a defect or something, perhaps a slightly harder texture on the right shoe on the upper back part that touches the Achilles tendon. Also, the quality is less than I expected. They seem cheap. I paid $49.99 but they feel more like $29.99. I still like Clarks but this one was a miss for me.2Cheap ProductI had one pair of Clarkes shoes. Perfect fit and comfortable wear. So I felt comfortable in trying the brand again. Execpt. These shoes? Like a cheap knock off product. Look shabby. Look cheap. I could not wait to toss them out. Did not wear them more than three times and happily spent three times the amount for a pair of Timberlands that are comfortable, well made and do not look like I bought them off the street for three dolllars.3don't buy -- just move alongI own five pair of size-12 Clarks shoes, mostly the "Wave Walker" variety. These are my favorite shoes to wear to work in my office and walk a couple of miles a day in too.Too bad that these Cotrell Edge shoes are far inferior than all my other Clarks shoes. I sent them back. Too small (compared to all my other Clarks shoes), poor fit that doesn't conform to a human's foot in the toe bed (which is common with many shoes). The sole is light-weight plastic-type material. Little arch support.2Weathered looking shoes that wear out too quicklyI've been wearing them for over a month now. The heel was very stiff initially, and tore up my Achilles pretty badly the first couple weeks. The weathered look draws eyes, I got some nice compliments at first. The shoes dont hold up well however, the shoe material stains much more easily than regular leather, the shoes have gotten noticeably darker at the front and there are white cracks starting to form. I dont see these shoes holding up for another couple months of frequent wear.If you plan to only wear these occasionally, go for it. But I bought these for daily wear to work and I am a bit disappointed.Cheap price, so you get what you pay for.3Good but not great work shoeI used this shoe daily for about a year now. I walk across linoleum floors, concrete, asphalt, and stones with them on a daily basis. The shoes are comfortable but not as comfortable as the higher priced Clarks. I would say they are worth what I paid but no more. The quality of them is high considering all the use I have put on them. The one downfall is the soles have worn quickly and they are slippery now when wet for walking on linoleum floors. The soles are nearly worn though. My last Clark s lasted 5 years, but cost about three times as much as these. For the money, I d buy them again, but for comfort, I ll go with a different shoe next time by Clark s.4Avoid! Not a Quality Shoe "Collections" by Clarks Follow up! Do not buy .These shoes fit great and I like wearing them. I bought them Feb 20 and the tread is wearing smooth. I do not walk a whole lot for work and these shoes will be gone before 60 days is over. This is not my only work shoe. I have Rockport's I have worn for 2 years and have more tread than these. I do not drag my feet either. I wish I would have believed the reviews. Really these shoes fit great look good but who needs a shoe that will only last 60 days of that long. The color also rubs off, I used a rag to clean dust and color just rubs off from light wiping.Tread is almost gone now and the price for the shoes has gone up ~$20. These will not last and clarks never responded to my emails. They did put me on their mailing list and sent a survey on how they did when they never responded.1Very Comfortable Pair Of Shoes.....My wife has worn Clark s Shoes for years. I saw these on Amazon at a good price. So I ordered myself a pair of them and been wearing them to see how they feel. They seem to be a comfortable pair of shoes. I ve not worn them long enough to know how well they will last. I may have to comment on that later. If they wear like hers, she has worn hers for several and says they are the most comfortable pair she s ever had. They look very nice. They are stylish. So far they fit me well. Hopefully they will hold up like my wife s shoes. Bottom line is for the money and the way they feel, I would recommend them to anyone.5Uncomfortable Squeakers[Updated Review Sep-25-2019]The shoes finally broke in after about a month of daily use but it was a very uncomfortable month. The squeak finally went away after 8 months or so but so have the treads on the bottom of the shoe. Unfortunately since the tread is gone, any water on the ground will cause slippage (think wet concrete due to sprinklers). I've caught myself from falling about half a dozen times. I'm really disappointed in these shoes since they're supposed to be a name brand but have lasted less than any other pair of shoes I have EVER owned. If you want a moderately priced uncomfortable squeaky shoe that will last about 1 year before causing you to "dance in the rain" then by all means get them but in my opinion go with a different shoe.[Original Review]Been wearing these for a couple of weeks now but it seems to still not have broken in as it's uncomfortable to wear all day. Additionally, these shoes squeak, I'm fairly confident it's the leather inside the shoe when the top of your foot/toes rub against them. It seems the insole are glued in and not easily removed.1Loud squeaky shoesThe Clarks Cotrell Edge Oxford seemed ideal for a casual everyday office work shoe. It is light, looks conventional, goes well with a variety of clothing, and is reasonably priced in its category. It has though a number of drawbacks. The sole, as has been mentioned in other reviews, is a softish plastic resembling crocs sandals; grip is far inferior to rubber and synthetic material used by some other manufacturers, and one has to wonder about longevity. Initial shoe comfort is great, but after about 40 minutes of walking some discomfort develops, on the top where the relatively hard leather folds and on the bottom of the foot. I thought that after breaking them in for a couple of weeks the 40+ minute discomfort would go away, but that has not been the case. So these shoes may not be the best for walking long distances. But the worst "feature" is a squeak that they developed after about the first 5 of so hours of walking. Now the squeak is permanent and loud. In a quiet office environment these shoes are practically unusable, unless you want everyone to notice when you are walking by.I have used several Timberland and Rockport shoes in the past of different styles and price points, some of which cheaper than these Clarks, and have never had any squeaks develop. This shoe also falls below average in comfort throughout the day.And the quest for an office shoe continues...2Great shoes; walk or stand all dayPros:Required NO time to break them in. Felt great instantly. They dont "scuff" so they look nice.Great support/insoleCons:Not much breathability. Keeps the water out though so that makes it a Pro.Other Info:I've owned 2 other pairs of Clarks shoes. I still have them. One pair I bought new in 1997. I've worn them for work/travel and they just keep on going. I've never resoled them either. I don't know the model but they look like Clarks Cushox loafers.I wear custom orthotics in my shoes and I did not need them in these shoes. Awesome!5
