Customer Reviews

Great Value for the Price. Perform well and last long. These lifting straps are a great value considering the price and durability. Just the padded wrist wrap for the price is a good deal and helps the stability of your pressing movements. I also have a pair of versa grips pro wraps, and find that depending on the exercise or grip orientation I prefer the Grip Power Pads on pressing movements, machine rows, and barbell rows and the Power Pads are less than half the price. But to be honest, I prefer the versa grips for vertical pulling or parallel grip exercises as they seem to allow for a more natural wrist alignment. I have just purchased my second pair of the Grip Power Pads neoprene padded lifting straps with rubber grips (facing away from the bar). I have had my first pair for two years now. The rubber grip has completely come out of the straps after about a year of consistent use 3-4 times a week, but they are still useful long after that. They began ripping close to my palms on the inside edge after about a year and a half at which time I wrapped gorilla tape around the strap and have continued to use them without any real problems with the straps slipping. They are a huge improvement over most of the standard looped type lifting straps you see and put up a fight with the much more expensive straps out there. And don't get caught in the hype that straps mean your weak and are garbage. You are likely training to build muscle not just your grip. They allow you to perform more reps safely and effectively and current research points to the idea that volume is most strongly correlated with muscle growth, so strap up when needed to get in a few more reps with better form and control for better gains. 4Awesome straps! These wraps are AWESOME! I should have bought them sooner. Would definitely recommend them. The cushion is pretty good ,overall pretty easy to use. The grip on the strap makes a big difference at least for me. I can lift heavier weight with better control with these wraps. Definitely a good buy!!5Very good straps ..she loves them!I bought these for my training partner who really wanted to increase her output in exercises that required grip. She reports that they feel very comfortable and has helped her confidence doing dead lifts and pull-ups. They don't slip at all and there is little to no strain on her fingers even with the increase in weight/reps/sets. She would definitely recommend the product and to date, she has no issues with their construction. 5These straps fit her wrists perfectly and were very comfortable.I bought these straps for my girlfriend who was skeptical about using them. She has very small wrists and was not sure that these would fit well as the ones I already had were too large for her. These straps fit her wrists perfectly and were very comfortable.4Very sturdy. However Got the version of "Rubber Side DOES NOT Face The Bar" basically means that when you wrap the straps around the barbell, the side facing the palm of your hand is not lined with rubber, instead the opposite side is lined with rubber. This provides increased friction and lock in grip support. A huge plus of this product. Very tight locked in grip. Very sturdy. However, given the small width of the strap I am not sure how much weight this can handle for a long time. I was able to deadlift 405lbs without problems, but over time I do feel it might break lose. Also when you tighten the wrist strap around your wrist, it does not stay in place so you have to re-adjust and hold the strap down so it does not shift position. This does not mean it shifts position when using the product. Just shifts when you are tightening the product over your wrist which can be slightly annoying. Only reason I am giving it a four of five star review. 4I like these straps mostly because of the added padding for ...I like these straps mostly because of the added padding for the wrist, and the texture of the strap that wraps around the bar. The texture keeps the strap from slipping as with most of the others I buy I am spending more time wrapping my straps to be tight so they don't loosen as I'm doing my reps than I am actually doing the reps.4Padded ComfortCompared to my other grips these are of superior quality. The wrist strap has padding to comfort the pull while lifting heavy weight. Compared to the other gloves I always had a "rash" for several days from the pull. These gloves also have slip resistant grip for the hands which is a must for me. If I felt the strap loosen it would disrupt my workout. These won't have that problem with the slip resistant grip. Another bonus for beginners is the wrist straps have "left - right". I remember when I started I would be confused on how to wear them.5Outstanding Lifting Straps, 5 stars is not enough! Could not ask for a better lifting strap! I have arthritis in my hands and some injuries over the years that preclude me from doing certain exercises, namely reverse curls. I had another pair that broke (different maker) and I bought the Grip Power Pad Hooks recently so I decided to get the straps as well. Best decision EVER. I not only like them, I am able to do much more weight than I thought possible and can honestly do even more...I've been working out since 2000 at the age of 42 and I've not run across another set this comfortable, affordable and as efficient as these straps. While you can use them for shrugs as well, I got the hooks for that. For the price of these straps you can't go wrong. Secure your grip! 5#THEHONESTTRUTHTHESE GRIPS REALLY WORK! Perfect for power lifting. This product is very easy to use. They are very light weight, and very well crafted. These grips have grip all the way down the strip, and very comfortable wrist straps. I have used this product for about a year, and I am so happy I bought this product. I recommend this product 100%. I have given this review with up most honesty, and integrity.Thank you.@THEHONESTTRUTH5So far these are working great for meI got these to replace my regular style lifting straps that were stolen one day at the gym. The style of these straps plus the reviews persuaded me to choose this style and brand. I use "lifting" straps for most of my "pull" work (lat pulldowns, rows, etc) and for deadlifts. So far these are working great for me! I did notice that my outer wrist was a little sore when I initially applied these and started to pull down the bar, I believe from the pressure the brace puts in that area, so I needed to spend some time adjusting the wrap/brace until it was both functional and comfortable. After that, I had no problems. I like that the rubberized strap allows less wrapping (if any) around the bar, so if you need to quickly let go/release, you won't get yanked unintentionally. I do "feel" like they're bulky on me, but I think that's because I'm used to the old school straps and that this feeling will change as I get used to wearing them. So far so good. 4Terrible seller communication/service, but very comfortable and nice strapsFirst off; I was sent the wrong pair of wrist straps. I ordered the traditional-style straps but I received the padded wrist cuff straps with velcro instead. I returned them (with little help from the seller telling me in broken English that they couldn't do anything and to contact Amazon instead), and they eventually sent me the exact same wrong pair of straps again! So either something is wrong with the page and pictures, or they've got something wrong in their shipping department which is frustrating not to receive the product that you want.Needless to say, I wasn't going to not do my shoulder shrug workout, so I tried the straps they sent and here's my honest opinion from a miffed buyer from the terrible customer service aspect.I must say firstly, they ARE very comfortable. I have never used these wrist-cuff style straps before and they worked fine for me and didn't cut into my wrists like other straps I'm used to. There's A LOT of padding there. I have medium to smaller wrists for a man, and I feel that these are made for bigger wrist individuals as I had to really tighten them down with the Velcro which led to a lot of overlap of the Velcro wrist strap. I did 700 lb shoulder shrugs with these straps; they didn't break and they only left minimal impressions on my wrists instead of any cutting into them like so many others do for me around this weight. With that said, I think these are pretty good straps. The wrist cuffs are comfortable and provide pretty good support, but if you have any sweat on you, the padded cuffs do tend to slip a little more down your wrists with the heavier weights compared to traditional-style straps. If you aren't lifting terribly heavy, or you have a very strong grip, this shouldn't be a problem for you. However, if you like to push your boundries and lift heavy, it might not be something you like and could lead to you not getting the maximum potential out of your lifts.Other than that issue, the strap construction is very solid overall. These are built to last I feel. The straps themselves are a little shorter than I'm used to (you can wrap them only twice fully around a typical bar with no more overlay available), but the straps do have a very nice rubber grip on them that makes this issue almost a non-issue for me. I liked the feel of the rubber grip, but I would prefer a slightly longer strap still (probably just because I am used to them from many years of lifting).I feel that if you are heading above 700 lbs. that you might be reaching the "weight limit" for these straps however; but at least your wrists won't be cut up in the process. I suppose it all depends on your grip strength, but with the slipping I experienced with these particular straps around the wrist due to the padding (and me sweating), I don't think I could reach my max-out lifts with these compared to traditional style straps without the hefty amount of padding that don't slip so easily. 4Hercules might need a pairI ordered these as a replacements for a lesser pair that I had bought in the past. They had served me for over 10,000,000 pounds of iron therefore I was looking for something to take this burden over and found these.Upon opening them, angles and trumpets sounded as I slipped them upon my wrist. Weights moved effortlessly, rep after rep, pound after pound, I pushed through a workout that I usually suffer without pain. Fellow lifters looked on with envy as personal records fell left and right. Women flocked like the sparrows of Capistrano to see what might happen next. Deadlifts and squats, bench or incline, it all just kept falling as the straps keep the bar moving. At the end of my workout, I still felt strong and powerful like the British Navy at port could be pulled ashore with a simple lift. When I took the straps off and returned them to my gym bag, I collapsed at the absence of them. Till Valhalla! They are worth the money and great construction, but rubber gripping on both sides and if they were about 4 shorter, they really be perfect. 4Love the padded wrist areaFirst I want to start off by saying this is the first time I have tried using wrist grips of any kind. I decided to try and use these as my hands are small and I have had carpal tunnel surgery in the past that made my hands weaker. I could lift heavier if my hands would hold the bars. I opted to go with these because of the neoprene padding on the wrists. I have small hands and the workouts I do are often on a machine, so these aren't exactly useful with some of what I do as I cannot reach the bar well enough to wrap and work this around the bar(lat pull downs). They also did not work for me on the close grip pull down, they slipped too much. They kept me from dropping the bar on the seated cable row however. They do add a bit of bulk which is expected, but at the same time not great for small hands. I used them on the shoulder shrugs and the bent over rows. My left hand is the weakest on these and it did help in the way that I didn't actually drop the dumbbell as it started slipping towards the end of the rows. For me after the first use it was useful but awkward also. If there was a way to actually attach the end of the strap to the wrist part or something it would be more useful to me I think. I will try again on chest day with a few work outs and see how it goes. I am optimistic. 4Best purchase ive made for my workoutsI've seen people use these types of things in the gym and i didn't understand why until now. They have completely transformed my workouts because i don't have to use as much grip anymore. My hands would hurt because of how much i was gripping the heavier weights and i even started developing carpal tunnel in my right hand but once i started using these that went away. The one drawback of these are that i know that they will probably come apart sooner rather than later. I used them for the first time a couple days ago and they already fraying and unraveling. Since they are made of nylon its easy to stop that by using a lighter and melting the plastic from fraying but that's just a bandaid on a wear and tear problem no mater how well the straps are made. Other than that this product is perfect for what i need it for. 5Great Straps for hanging from a pull-up bar!I purchased a set of the Best Heavy Duty Lifting Straps Neoprene Padded 1 Pair Wrist Wraps & Rubbery Grip Support, so that it would make it easier for my hands to hang from a pull-up bar. I chose the "Rubber Side DOES NOT Face The Bar" option for this strap, since I wanted the non-rubber side of the strap to easily slide around my metal bar without much friction, and the rubber side of the strap to help my hands grip the strap (and also provide a little cushion). The Grip Power Pads straps are very well made, and feel heavy duty. I expect these straps to last a very long time, since all the materials feel strong and sturdy, including the velcro, foam padding, nylon straps, metal ring, and all the stitching. I have small wrists (about 6" around), and the straps fit my wrist snug. [Note: If your wrists are less than 6", then you can still trim a little of the foam padding where the ends meet and that will make these straps snug on a smaller wrist.]I purchased these straps, because I was hoping to find something that would help me hang from a pull-up bar for extended periods of time. I've been experiencing shoulder pain, and from my research I think it is from an impinged tendon/bursa in my shoulder that gets rubbed or impinged between the acromion and rotator cuff. As part of my research, I purchased the book Shoulder Pain? The Solution & Prevention, Revised & Expanded by Dr. John M. Kirsch (a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon). In this book, Dr. Kirsch recommends people to hang from a bar to help heal their shoulder (as well as do some simple weight lifting exercises). I also recommend purchasing this book, if you have been experiencing shoulder pain.In accordance with Dr. Kirsch's book, I was trying to hang from a pull-up bar. I began trying to hang with my bare hands. Unfortunately, I was only able to hang with my full body weight for maybe 5 seconds or so. My hands and fingers are just too weak, and I think it caused more pain in my shoulder because I was struggling so much in my hands. After I got the Grip Power Pads straps, I was able to hang for 30 seconds (I hang for 30 seconds for five sets, and rest about 90 seconds between each set). I only started hanging about 2 weeks ago, so I'm confident that my hang time will increase over time. If it wasn't for the pain I experience in my shoulder while I hang, I'm sure I would be able to hang for a longer period of time with these straps.I hang from a 1 1/4" diameter bar, and the strap wraps around the bar twice. If you are hanging from a fat bar (fatter than 1 1/4"), then you should consider getting Grip Power Pads other product which is a much longer strap: PRO Level Cotton Lifting Straps with Neoprene Wrist Pad Support & Silicone Grip Enhancement - Up to 24" Long Weightlifting Straps & 2" Wide for Maximum Support by Grip Power Pads. Although I haven't used this other product yet myself, so do your own research before purchasing. It should be noted that prior to buying the Grip Power Pads straps, I purchased the Grip Power Pads Metal Lifting Steel Hooks Heavy Duty PRO Metal Lifting Steel Hooks Double Stitching Non-Slip Resistant Coating Neoprene Padded Best Power WeightLifting Training Set of 2 600LB Pull Rating. However, it was hard to hang from a pull-up bar with these hooks. The hook part makes it hard to grip around the hook and hang at the same time (feels a bit like you are hanging from a cliff and at a bit of a weird angle). It also felt like I was hanging mostly from my wrist (and not from my fingers), since it was hard to maintain a grip on the hook, especially since I have small hands. Anyways, if you are looking for something to help you hang from a bar, then you should get the Grip Power Pads Lifting Straps (instead of the Metal Lifting Steel Hooks). Although it should be noted that the Metal Lifting Steel Hooks by Grip Power Pads were also well made and felt heavy duty, so if you are planning to use them for a different purpose then those might work. Even though I returned the Metal Lifting Steel Hooks (which Grip Power Pads was quick to provide w/ a refund ... great customer service!), I decided to stick with the same brand and get Grip Power Pads Lifting Straps since I was confident that the quality would be great.Overall, I think these straps are great and I think they will last me many years! 5
